Rainbow Chanel Boy Bags Are Back for Pre-Collection Spring 2018, Together with a New Mini Size

The first versions of these colorful bags debuted with Cruise 2017

Chanel just dropped its Pre-Collection Spring 2018 lineup, which we’ll be covering in complete detail early next week, but while thumbing through it, we noticed two things we needed to tell you about immediately. First, Chanel Bags 2009 Collection has revisited one of its most popular Boy Bag colorways of recent seasons, the dreamy rainbows of Chanel Cuba Cruise 2017. Second, there’s a new size of Boy Bag available: the Mini, which is the smallest available in the lineup so far.

We covered the original rainbow Boy Bags closely when they debuted, and when collections hit stores, they sold out almost instantly. This new version of the bags uses softer, paler colors to achieve a similar effect, and if you think you want one, you should probably contact your local boutique now. From what we know, the colorway comes in three sizes: Medium, Small and Mini.

As we mentioned, the Mini is new for Pre-Collection Spring 2018, and it’s the smallest of Boy Bag ever. The current Small measures a little over 7 inches wide, while the new Mini clocks in at 5.9 inches and $3,100 for the rainbow version. The size will present an issue for owners of certain phones, so you might want to measure carefully.

Check out the three new rainbow Boy Bags below.

I once received an email from an associate: ‘Which hardware is the most famous, silver or gold?’ . To be honest, I can not answer that question, since there’s an equal amount those who love the tote in gold as well as at silver. It’s better to pick a hardware which you enjoy than after the crowds. Do you use gold or silver? Then pick the silver string, if not pick the golden chain. They looks great. One of our associates requested the SA in an Chanel Bags Pictures boutique if it is possible to change the silver chain into the golden chain. Normally SA will reject your offer, however occasionally they can check what they can do. Generally, once you settle on a hardware, you can not alter it anymore.I love silver because it neutralize the bag. It doesn’t scream for attention like the golden hardware. Nevertheless, the gold hardware does really looks cute with black. So it depends on your own personal taste what you like. So far, I haven’t met any people that have difficulty in choosing the right leather. What leather you should choose depends upon how you will use the bag and personal taste of course. The most frequent leather to choose are caviar and lambskin. Let’s covers some fantastic stuff and bad things:What leather you are going to settle has a huge impact on your overall experience. You may love it. Should you touch it, then you may actually feel the posh’ness, the royalty appeal. The lambskin is also much lighter than the caviar. But there is a catch: you might observe that the lambskin is easier to get scratched than the caviar. But that’s the price you have to pay.

Get a Glimpse of Chanel’s Spring 2018 Bags in the Brand’s New Ad Campaign

Expect lots of pastels and knits, coming soon to a store near you

Fashion and accessories are far more interesting (and intellectually diverse) topics than most people give them credit for, but sometimes, it’s just nice to have something pretty to look at. And that’s what we’re here to provide you with this morning: Chanel’s Spring 2018 ad campaign, which is serenely pastel and includes a handful of pretty bags to match.

In contrast to Chanel’s always grandiose fashion shows, these shots are stark and simple: a couple models against tonal backgrounds, wearing and carrying the collection, which we reviewed when it came down the runway. The show had strong mermaid vibes, but that’s somewhat muted in these images, which instead emphasize the soft colors of the collection. Check out the ads below; these bags should be in Chanel boutiques in March. You can also view Chanel’s entire Pre-Collection Spring 2018 handbag lookbook.

Some people dream for years of owning a Chanel Classic Flap Bag or Chanel Reissue 2.55 Flap Bag (and now, a Chanel Boy Bag), some already own multiples of each, and still others think that they’re too conventional and played-out. I could not agree less with this third group of people – with a lot of finishes, colors and sizes, Chanel’s famous flaps have just a little something which all people can enjoy, if you remain open-minded. Still on the fence? If you’re, go ahead and do it. Chanel is among the masters of this crippling price increase, jacking up the MSRPs of its bags each six months to a year, sometimes by up to $500 for a simple bag. As a general rule, bags do not hold their worth all that well, but always rising prices keep the timeless flap bags fairly easy to pay for close to (or, in some cases, more than) what you paid. Plus, even if you don’t take resale into consideration, you’re just going to have to fork over more cash for the same bag in the very close to future should you wait.Except, you understand this is real life. Legendary actresses, socialites and royals have taken this bag, and hey, if you can not wed a prince, you can at least buy the same bag as the women who do. Or the identical bag as the girls from The Hills – it seems as though the bag is now the go-to accessory when a younger girl wishes to signal to the world that she’s grown and matured into a fashionable lady.Everyone from Urban Outfitters to Marc Jacobs has been accused of stealing from Chanel’s signature tote, and there’s a fantastic reason for this – it is timeless, iconic and as relevant to luxury customers now as it was back in the 1950s. Chain straps and lace have become almost synonymous with the concept of this designer handbag, along with the Chanel flap may even be more popular across the world compared to the famous handbag sacred grail, the Hermes Birkin.

Chanel Price Increases Continue into 2018, Today Affecting the WOC and Small Leather Goods

Chanel WOC prices went up nearly 20%

Last week, we brought you the news that Chanel raised prices on its Classic Flap bags, ranging from 6.5% to 8.2%. Most people knew that meant additional price increases would follow, so they asked their local sale associates in hopes of getting additional information or purchased bags on their wishlist before the price went up again.

I could not agree less with that third group of people – with lots of finishes, colours and sizes, Chanel’s famous flaps have a little something which everyone can appreciate, if you stay open-minded. If you’re, go ahead and do it. Chanel is among the masters of this crippling price growth, jacking up the MSRPs of its luggage every six months to a year, sometimes by as much as $500 for a basic bag. As a general rule, bags don’t hold their value all that well, but always rising prices maintain the timeless flap bags fairly easy to resell for near (or, in some cases, over) what you paid. Plus, even in the event that you don’t take resale into consideration, you’re just going to have to fork over more money for the identical bag in the very close to future should you wait.Except, you understand, this is real life. Famous actresses, socialites and royals have taken this bag, and hey, even if you can’t wed a prince, you can at least buy the same bag as the women who do. Or the same bag as the girls from The Hills – it sounds as though the bag is now the go-to accessory when a younger girl wishes to indicate to the world that she has matured and grown into a fashionable lady.Everyone out of Urban Outfitters to Marc Jacobs has been accused of stealing from Chanel’s signature tote, and there is a fantastic reason for that – it’s classic, iconic and still as relevant to luxury customers now as it was back in the 1950s. Chain straps and quilted leather are very almost synonymous with the concept of the designer handbag, along with the Chanel flap might even be well-known across the world compared to the famous handbag sacred grail, the Hermes Birkin.

I have bad news for you if you were looking to buy a Chanel WOC (Wallet on Chain Bag) or Chanel small leather goods: the prices on those pieces went up last week, including an increase of a whopping $400 for a Chanel WOC. The previous price of the standard leather WOC was $2,100, and it is now $2,500. The dollar amount of that increase is the same as it was for the majority Chanel Classic Flap Bag sizes, but on a bag that is much smaller and costs less. The percentage increase on the Chanel WOC is an astounding 19%.

We don’t have specific information on prices on every WOC before and after this increase, but the starting WOC price was $2,100 and across the board that has increased to $2,500. There was confusion amongst stores, sales associates, and shoppers as some members of PurseForum were seeing price tags of $2,500 back in December but the store would only charge them $2,100. The prices changed officially on January 5th, 2018, so if you had your heart set on a Chanel WOC, you’ll need to find an additional $400.

Chanel WOC: Was $2,100, now $2,500

Some small leather goods were affected as well, with increases between $50 and $100. On these items, the increase is still substantial as a percentage of the final price, as the price point is lower to begin with.

Price Increase Rumors

As for the next price increase at Chanel, rumor has it the Boy Bag will be increased in the next few months, and one member of the PurseForum heard from her sales associate that it will also be $400. There’s always a lot of frustration over price increases, mostly because the increase is so high and shoppers often don’t find any commensurate increase in quality; on the contrary, Chanel bags have been reported by many of our PurseForum members to have had recent quality control issues.

But that doesn’t change the fact that many people absolutely adore Chanel Bags House Of Fraser and continue to buy the bags no matter what the increase may be. I suppose it’s part of why Chanel can continue to raise prices like it does: the brand knows people will continue to buy.

But when is enough enough? To me, it seems that after a certain point, increases and quality issues will leave some customers deciding to move on to different brands.

Chanel is Listing a Lot of Cruise 2018 Bags on Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus

Unfortunately, there’s a catch

Before I get your hopes up too much: no, you still can’t buy Chanel Bags Price Increase bags online. The company has been talking about the possibility for years and making small moves to make it possible in recent seasons, but you still can’t. For the second season in a row, though, Chanel has chosen to list some of its new bags at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, teasing the possibility of clicking “add to bag” without actually letting you do it.

The two retailers, which share a corporate parent company, feature overlapping but slightly different selections from the 7 Star Chanel Bags Cruise 2018 collection, and all the bags offered were first seen in the brand’s seasonal lookbook (which you can see in its entirety here). The selection does give us a little bit of information that was left out of the lookbook, though: namely, prices for a handful of the collection’s most expensive pieces, including a Boy Bag and a Classic Flap.

Although this isn’t e-commerce (if you see something you like, you’ll have to call to inquire), it certainly suggests a continued interested from Chanel Bags For Cheap in reaching shoppers through traditional online retail channels. If I had to guess, I’d say we’ll be seeing online sales from the brand in the next couple seasons.

Ancient Greece is something many people in the West start learning about as kids, and in those early days, a great deal of learning is visual. When Karl Lagerfeld set out to theme Chanel’s Cruise 2018 collection around ancient Greece, he didn’t stray far from those tropes–in fact, he did not stray at all, and the consequent bags are in stores now. These bags will be appealing to individuals interested in the colours and textures of Greece particularly, and the light, warm shades make for an excellent escape wardrobe (this really is a hotel set, after all). Check out all the bag’s in the brand’s expansive lookbook below, including new seasonal variations of the favorite Boy, Classic Flap and Gabrielle lines. As always, we’ve included prices. There aren’t many fashion brands that will not allow you to purchase their luggage online at this point–even Hermès has responded that the siren song of internet retail–but Chanel is still one of the only holdouts. Even though the French handbag powerhouse has taken to publishing increasingly long and elaborate handbag lookbooks every season, you still need to parade yourself into one of the company’s comparatively infrequent boutiques so as to obtain a brand-new bag. If ” new” isn’t the important part of that sentence for you, though, we may be able to help.

Chanel Reverses Course, States Online Sales Are Not Coming Anytime Soon

Fashion and accessories are far more interesting (and intellectually diverse) themes than many men and women give them credit for, but sometimes, it is just wonderful to have something pretty to look at. And that’s what we’re here to provide you with this morning: Chanel’s Spring 2018 advertising effort, which can be serenely pastel and includes a couple of pretty bags to match. In comparison to Chanel’s always grandiose fashion shows, these shots are simple and crude: a couple models against tonal wallpapers, sporting and carrying out the collection, which we analyzed as it came down the runway. The show had strong mermaid vibes, but that is somewhat muted in these images, which rather emphasize the soft colours of this collection. Have a look at the ads below; those bags should be in Chanel Bags Holt Renfrew stalls in March. You could even see Chanel’s entire Pre-Collection Spring 2018 handbag lookbook.Price gains are unavoidable for most consumer goods, and we’ve all come to expect them. With inflation and cost of living increases, which increase the cost of work and materials, the things we’ve come to love should go up in price occasionally. However, no other luxury brand appears to increase its prices like Chanel, and instead of increasing prices across different collections at the same time, Chanel is performing it one tote line at one time, and to me, that makes it worse. It’s like ripping a Bandaid off gradually pulling it back; Chanel is shooting the latter approach. At the end of 2017 Chanel Classic Bags went up in price, then at the beginning of 2018, the WOC went up nearly 20%, and a few members of PurseForum were advised Chanel Gabrielle Bag prices will probably go up in the US on February 1, and Boy bag will follow soon after. We presumed the cost increase would continue across all bags, but dragging this out seems to create this much more bothersome for the shopper. On the flip side, I like the do-it-all-at-once strategy, but alternatively, at least if you find it out before the increase happens, you can run out and buy the bag in the ‘old’ price.

You won’t be able to buy Chanel bags online in the near future after all

In 2015, we reported some exciting news: Chanel had publicly declared its intention to launch online sales of some of its fashion pieces. At the time, Chanel’s president of fashion Bruno Pavlovsky said that the brand was testing methods to launch e-commerce on its website (beyond the cosmetics, fragrance and sunglasses it already sells there), and that shoppers could look forward to it as early as Fall 2016. Obviously that has yet to happen, and now the same Chanel executive has reversed course, according to a report by Business of Fashion.

BOF reports that at a Vogue conference in Paris this week, Pavlovsky told the audience that Chanel has no plans to launch further online retail categories. “If you give everything to everyone straight away, I think you lose that exclusivity. I’m not saying we won’t try it one day, but if we do it will be because we’ll really think there’s some added value,” he said. That’s pretty unambiguous: if you had dreams of ordering a brand new Chanel bag online, straight to your door, that’s just not going to be possible.

This announcement comes on the heels of just the opposite from one of Chanel’s competitors: Céline recently launched its Spring 2018 collection with e-commerce in France, as well as a promise to US shoppers that online sales would be coming in the new year. Céline is an LVMH brand, though, and its parent company has long embraced online shopping. Chanel, on the other hand, is privately owned instead of managed by a conglomerate, which means it has fewer people it needs to please with its business decisions.

And by all indications, lack of online sales hasn’t slowed Chanel S/S 2015 Bags down in recent seasons. The brand doesn’t release sales figures, but based on what we can see from the outside—things like celebrity support and difficulty finding the most popular bags in stock in stores—it seems like the brand has little to worry about in the realm of consumer interest.

If you’d still rather buy online than in a store, the internet does allow you some alternatives, so long as you’re okay with buying pre-owned bags. Earlier this year, we put together a guide to all your best options for doing just that.

Chanel Releases Spring 2018 Handbag Collection Using 100+ of Its Most Beautiful Bags Pictures Ever (Plus Prices!)

The collection includes lots of pale colors, see-through bags and—you guessed it—a brand new fanny pack

The way designers and retailers display their bags for shoppers online has been a pet peeve of mine for years. These are aesthetic-minded companies with huge budgets for marketing and digital, and still, somehow, in The Year Of Our Lord 2018, so many companies give us small, artless images that make their super-expensive subjects look drab and give their viewers little window into how a bag might look in person. Chanel might have nixed future plans to sell its bags online, but with its Spring 2018 handbag lookbook, the French accessories heavyweight has given us well over a hundred truly gorgeous images of its new bag collection.

The bags themselves don’t need much explaining: Chanel Spring 2018 had a vaguely aquatic theme, which gives us lots of mermaid greens and blues alongside similarly soft shades of pink. There are some clear and colored PVC bags, as well as tons of sequins and plenty of beading, and the combination of colors and textures provides for some straightforwardly pretty bags that will almost undoubtedly be popular. As for new shapes, there’s a fanny pack that all the Insta-famous style stars of the world are gonna love.

What really stands out to me, though—and maybe just because I look at images of bags all day—is that the photos feel as though they’re fitting of the luxury experience Chanel hopes its shoppers will have while contemplating, selecting and purchasing one of their products. They’re beautifully lit and often show the bags at a slight angle, which provides a better idea of depth and texture than the straight-on shots most brands and retailers provide. Check them all out, along with the prices of the bags in question, below.

Seriously, that stuff is indestructible. Run your fingers – no, better yet, run your fingernails along it next time you are near a Chanel bag made of the material, and you will see exactly what I mean. It has a finish nearly as tough as Louis Vuitton monogram canvas, but you’re paying for actual leather instead of, canvas. With just how much those monogram bags operate these days, the purchase price of a neutral leather Chanel bag with comparable durability looks downright reasonable. But. . You’re in no danger of visiting your luggage on every woman on the block (if you don’t live on a really, really nice block, but if you do, there’s likely no sense in trying to stay 1 step ahead anyway), and even in the event that you see a lot of individuals carrying non-Chanel bags which look similar, there is simply no comparison when you see and hold a Chanel flap bag in person. The Classic Flap continues to be popular for literally decades and also the 2.55 Reissue helped revive the design from the mid-2000s, but it had been obvious that Chanel was going to need to generate a smart, modern-looking next generation flap tote to continue to woo customers who want Chanel bags to be zeitgeist-y as the brand’s runway shows. With the Boy Bag, Chanel pulled off just that; a design that feels deeply rooted in the home’s handbag history but still fresh and different enough to beguile customers who don’t need to carry bags that their moms want to know more about.

Chanel Price Increase 2018: The Gabrielle along with Boy Bag Are Next

Chanel continues to raise prices on some of its most coveted bags…

Price increases are inevitable for most consumer goods, and we’ve all come to expect them. With inflation and cost of living increases, which raise the cost of labor and materials, the items we’ve come to love should go up in price occasionally. But no other luxury brand seems to raise its prices like Chanel, and instead of raising prices across different collections at once, Chanel Bags Quilted is doing it one bag line at a time, and to me, that makes it worse. It’s like ripping a Bandaid off versus slowly pulling it back; Chanel is taking the latter approach.

At the end of 2017 Chanel Classic Bags went up in price, then at the start of 2018, the WOC went up nearly 20%, and now a few members of PurseForum were told Chanel Gabrielle Bag prices will go up in the US on February 1, and Boy Bags will follow soon after. We assumed the price increase would continue across all bags, but dragging this out seems to make this much more annoying for the shopper. On one hand, I like the do-it-all-at-once approach, but on the other, at least if you figure it out before the increase happens, you can run out and buy the bag at the ‘old’ price. Come to think of it, Chanel may use this tactic to drum up sales, and I am sure it works for many.

If you are interested in a Chanel Gabrille Bag, go get it now because rumor has it the price increase will hit February 1st. The increase is said to be as follows:

– Small Gabrielle Bag, was $3200, now $3,600
– Medium Gabrielle Bag, was $3,600, now $4,100
– Large Gabrielle Bag, was $4,000, now $4,400
– Small Gabrielle Backpack, was $3,000, now $3,300
– Medium Gabrielle Backpack, was $3,300, now $3,800

Ancient Greece is something many people in the West begin learning about as kids, and in those early days, a lot of learning is visual. When Karl Lagerfeld set out to theme Chanel’s pub 2018 set around early Greece, he did not stray far from those tropes–in actuality, he did not stray at all, and the resulting bags are in stores now. These bags will be attractive to individuals interested in the colours and textures of Greece in particular, and the mild, warm colors make for an superb getaway wardrobe (this really is a hotel collection, after all). Check out all of the bag’s in the new grand lookbook below, which includes new seasonal variations of the popular Boy, Classic Flap and Gabrielle lines. As always, we have included prices. There are not many fashion brands that will not let you purchase their luggage online at this point–even Hermès has responded that the siren song of internet retail–but Chanel is still one of the lone holdouts. Although the French handbag powerhouse has taken to releasing increasingly long and fancy handbag lookbooks every season, you still need to parade into one of those organization’s comparatively infrequent boutiques in order to obtain a brand new bag. If ” new” is not the significant part that sentence for you, however, we might be able to provide help.

As for the Chanel Boy Bag, which is said to be next on the Chanel Bags Mini 8 price increase list, what shoppers are hearing is another $400 price increase. We will keep you posted when that should happen—some say around March—but if you’re interested in a Boy Bag, now is your chance to grab it before it too goes up in price.

Chanel Debuts German-Inspired Metiers d’Art 2018 Handbags

The brand’s latest collection is inspired by designer Karl Lagerfeld’s hometown of Hamburg

If you’ve seen Chanel handbag collections before, I’m not about to show you anything that will stun you, but if you like Chanel bags, then you’ll probably be pretty happy with what designer Karl Lagerfeld has whipped up this time. That’s an accurate summation of most Chanel shows, probably, but it seems especially apt for Chanel Metiers d’Art 2018, which features the brand’s bags interpreted through the lens of their designer’s hometown.

The collection is Lagerfeld at his most Lagerfeldian, with lots of black and plenty of military-inspired elements. The bags, though, retained their quintessential Chanel finishes, with the brand’s now-traditional mix of day bags and novelty evening clutches. Several of said clutches looked like mini Chanel shipping containers to me, but I’m not sure that’s what they were meant to evoke. If they are, indeed, miniature shipping containers, they’re my favorite Chanel clutches in a while. Chanel’s Metiers d’Art collections take the place of pre-fall, so you can expect to see this line in stores in about six months.

Check out all the bags from the collection below.

Sure that the weather can vary from season to season, and fashion trends certainly come and go also, but one thing is for certain: that the Chanel love is here to remain. This summer, our favorite bagstagrammers attracted their very best Chanel bags out to perform. By WOCs to Boy Luggage and Flap bag, summertime 2017 was most undoubtedly the Summer of Chanel. We’ve piled up the very best snaps and stocks for your viewing enjoyment, because let’s be fair: everybody needs a little extra dose of Chanel, particularly on hump day!Editor’s Note: We are taking a break this week before the end of summer, so for the upcoming few days, you will see a mixture of new articles and some old favorites. This is among the latter–consider it as PurseBlog Classic! This post was originally published on February 11, 20160. The Chanel Classic Flap Bag is undisputedly one of the most essential accessories at the history of style, and its creation, along with those of its 2.55 Flap Bag predecessor and Lady Bag descendent, are filled with historical style lore. There is also a great deal of confusion and misinformation regarding the bags, as well as their details, differences and roots, however, so we set out to debunk or confirm what we could.Below, we have created a primer, including a handy guide to the gaps between the 2.55 and Classic Flap, what makes a bag a “Reissue” and in which Coco Chanel got her inspiration for many of the designs’ most iconic particulars.

Chanel Snuck at a Cost Increase For Its Classic Bag in 2017’s End

If you want a Classic Flap or 2.55, it’ll now cost you even more

Often, price increases happen at the beginning of a new year, so when we set about investigating whether or not any of the biggest brands had one coming this month, we found something curious: Chanel had slipped one in for some of its most popular bags in November, while everyone was busy with the holidays. This is the first increase for these bags since early 2014.

Chanel doesn’t formally announce price increases to the public, but from what we’ve been able to gather, the increase affects Classic Flap and 2.55 Flap prices in the US market. Instead of a flat percentage, the amount of increase depends on the size of the bag, with percentages ranging from 6.5% to 8.2%. Although Boy Bag prices usually rise with the brand’s other famous flaps, they seem to have been excluded from this increase. Check out new prices below.

– Mini Classic Flap: Was $3,100, now $3,300
– Medium Classic and 2.55 Flap: Was $4,900, now $5,300
– Jumbo Classic Flap and 2.55 Flap: Was $5,500, now $5,900
– Maxi Classic Flap and 2.55 Flap: Was $6,000, now $6,400

The dollar amount of the increase is exactly the same as it was for the majority Chanel Bags Ioffer Classic Flap Bag sizes, but on a bag that’s much smaller and costs less. The percent increase on the Chanel WOC is an astounding 19%. We don’t have specific information on costs on every WOC before and following this increase, but the beginning WOC cost was $2,100 and across the plank which has increased to $2,500. There was confusion among stores, sales associates, and shoppers as a few members of PurseForum were seeing price tags of $2,500 back in December but the store would only cost them $2,100. On these items, the increase is still substantial as a proportion of the final price, since the price point is lower to begin with. As for the following price increase at Chanel, rumor has it the Boy Bag is going to be increased within the next few months, and one among the PurseForum discovered from her sales associate it will also be 400. There’s always a lot of frustration over cost increases, largely because the increase is so high and shoppers often don’t find any significant increase in quality; around the contrary, Chanel bags are reported by many of our PurseForum members to have experienced recent quality control issues.
